- US Coast Guard certified captains Top of the line and well maintained snorkel gear
- Soft silicone masks, dry snorkels, comfortable rubber fins, high quality wetsuits, snorkel vests, and anti-fog is kept on the raft Personal fittings and instruction on how to use snorkel gear
- In the event you need a little extra flotation our quality snorkel vests can be inflated to meet your personal flotation needs. Corrective lens masks upon request
- We want you to be able to see the fish and beautiful marine life found only here in Hawaii.
Quality Dry Bags
- This allows any items you bring with you on the tour to stay dry. Catered lunch
- We don’t believe in box lunches. We offer fresh sandwiches made daily from our Executive Chef Jeff who owns a thriving catering business.
- The lunch includes a sandwich, chips, and a dessert. Water and beverages are provided throughout the tour.
- We offer vegetarian sandwiches upon request (must be requested during booking)
We recommend that you wear or bring your bathing suit, bring a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, an underwater camera, and you may want to bring dry clothes for after the tour. We will provide you with a dry bag so your items stay dry during the tour. You will be able to change in or out of your bathing suit at our office or the harbor. Don't worry, if you forget your camera or sunscreen, we have these items for purchase at our office.
I don't swim, but I want to snorkel, can I go?
BEGINNERS ARE WELCOME. We love to educate new adventurist. We won’t teach you how to swim but we will teach you how to snorkel and have a guide with you the entire trip. We hope that this will be an eye opening experience and motivate you to learn how to swim, learn about the ocean, and join an organization to help preserve our incredible oceans and marine life.
We explore various sites along the South Shore of Kauai. We pick the sites the day of the tour based on ocean and weather conditions. Our experienced mariners select the best sites for the greatest possibility of marine life encounters.
What will we see on your tour?

We travel the South Shore of Kauai; the island’s best snorkeling year round and best whale watching (December - May). Poipu, also known as “Sunny Poipu” or locally as the “South Side” has virtually no runoffs or streams, the visibility is exceptional and not affected by rainfall. Most of our tour is spent in the water snorkeling with turtles, exotic fish (most are only found in Hawaii) and various sea life. We snorkel at least two locations and give you a guided tour through the water, pointing out lobster, octopus, and unique marine life. Along the way you typically encounter dolphins and during the winter months you can be up close and personal with the incredible humpback whales. All of the marine life is wild and therefore, we leave it to them to visit us. On our 3 hour tour you will encounter most if not all of the sea life Kauai has to offer.
One thing to keep in mind as you are planning your vacation, the surf on the south side is minimal. The large swells that hit our island in the winter months only affect the north and west shores, typically not the south! Therefore, if you’re planning on snorkeling on your vacation, or just want to join us for exceptional whale watching, be sure to plan a trip with Z Tourz.
Will I experience motion sickness?
The south shore typically offers the calmest waters around Kauai which is why we can offer our snorkel tourz year round and one of the main reasons we operate out of the South Side. Just like in an airplane, everyone is different, there is no way for us to know. If you are susceptible to motion sickness, we suggest that you talk with your pharmacist. Some guests have informed us about over the counter products such as Triptone, Bonine, or Dramamine. Homeopathic options include all natural ginger or a product named Hylands. Be certain to following the dosing recommendations on the package and/or your pharmacists instructions for maximum effectiveness. We do not offer refunds for motion sickness. However, with our tour if you are not feeling well we may be able to bring you back to the harbor between snorkel sites. No other boat tour can offer you this option. We want you, your family and your friends to have a good time and enjoy this magnificent adventure.

We take you to spots not accessible from the shore or beach. Snorkeling from a boat in Hawaii protects the coral and offers better interaction with marine life. Do you offer Napali Coast Tours?
Only for Private Charters if requested and only if the weather and ocean conditions permit and our crew deem it is SAFE. The Napali Coast offers majestic scenery but limited snorkeling. With the extreme waves in the winter the reef is constantly sandblasted and therefore offer limited marine life. If you were a fish would you want to live in an environment where you are sand blasted? Because of the limited snorkeling opportunities and personal marine life encounters, we do not venture to Napali for our snorkel adventures. Finally, we want you to be relaxed and enjoy your adventure.
Napali coast is very majestic and should not be missed, however we believe the safest and most enjoyable way to see Napali is by air or driving up to the Waimea Canyon lookout.

After the tour what other activities are on the south side?
There are many sites to see. Since our tour is only 3 hours, there is plenty of time to take in another site or activity while visiting Kauai's south shore. A few recommendations are as follows:
1. Take highway 50 to Waimea Canyon and explore the many trails and scenic overlooks. On the way stop at the Kauai Coffee and sample their delicious steaming Joe.
2. Visit Allerton Garden.
3. Visit the many Poipu area beaches.
4. Golfing
